About Me

I went to graduate school to become a therapist after 10 years of working in the corporate world because I felt inspired to help others struggling in the same way I struggled.

I am passionate about helping you feel connected and fulfilled in your relationship. My favorite part of therapy is being able to see partners reach a point where they are smiling at each other, leaning toward one another, and remembering why they fell in love in the first place.

I’m passionate about this because it’s through my relationships that I’ve been able to grow the most in my life. My relationships have challenged me to face dark parts of myself and overcome things that were hard, and feel safer and more fulfilled because of it. I’m also a firm believer that relationships can bring out the best in us (with the right tending), and I’ve experienced that in my own life. My biggest moments of joy and fulfillment have been with my partner. It’s a beautiful thing when you get to move past the hard stuff and experience real fulfillment in the presence of another person.

Like most people who end up as therapists, I found my way into helping others after working on my own issues first. I'm far from perfect, but I spent years in therapy getting better at handling tough emotions, facing conflict in relationships, and communicating with authenticity. Along the way I learned that I love helping others feel happier and create deeper connections in their own lives.

So that’s what I do now. I’m trained as a coach, a personal trainer, and a psychotherapist. I specialize in couples work where one or both members struggle with anxiety or conflict avoidance. As a man who has struggled in the past to find a good therapist who understands my world, I’m also passionate about helping men, and I work well with men dealing with issues like self-confidence, anxiety, depression, and trauma.

It’s my mission to create a world full of people living deep, fulfilling relationships, and I want to help you get there.

I currently work at a group practice called Mind Body Co-op in Chicago. If you live in the Chicago area and are interested in working with me, please check out my profile on Psychology Today or the Mind Body Co-op website, or just reach out directly below.

Education & Training

I came to therapy after working for over 10 years in the corporate world, first in sales and marketing at Google, and then at Toptal as a Manager for several years.

Since becoming a therapist, my clinical education for couples work has focused on the Gottman Method, an evidence-based framework for treating couples. This method is supported by over 30 years of research and covers issues spanning everything from infidelity to communication and conflict. I also incorporate aspects of Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and other research-based methods in my sessions.

My individual work integrates multiple evidence-based and experiential methods like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. I often integrate mindfulness techniques, visualizations and somatic work to create a holistic approach that is unique to each client.
